Removal of overhanging amalgam fillings
Trimming of poorly fitting or overcontoured crown margins:

The thin flexible tips fit easily in every interdental space. Large overhanging marginal irritations or poorly fitting crown margins can be quickly and easily removed with the normal tip (Proxo 0 - 1 - 1L). Next, the proximal surfaces of the filling and crown margins can be contoured with the fine tip (Proxo 2 - 2L) and initially polished with the superfine tip (Proxo 3 - 3L)

Should amalgam clog the diamond-coating of the tips reducing their effectiveness, it can be removed with the special rubber cleaning block.
 

Removal of composite overhangs:

The Proxoshape tips can also be used in the small anterior interdental spaces. Large overhangs can be removed with the normal tip (Proxo 0 - 1 - 1L). The fine (Proxo 2 - 2L) and superfine (Proxo 3 - 3L) tips are ideal for contouring and finishing the proximal surfaces of the filling.

How to use the Proxoshape Set
 

• Without pressure, gently insert the tip into the interdental space; it must not jam.

• Start the EVA handpiece; ideal speed: lowto approx. 10,000 rpm = 20,000 strokes/min.

• Use the handpiece with a wiping motion following the contour of the tooth. Do not allow the tip to remain in one place; always maintain a light back and forth or up and down motion.

• Always use with a generous waterspray.

How to clean the tips

Dry the amalgam-clogged tip, place it in the EVA handpiece and set it in motion against the special rubber cleaning block.
