COMPOSHAPE Set Anterior & Posterior

Microfine Composite Finishing Diamonds

This set of burs was assembled in collaboration with: University of Zurich

Indications

To finish anterior and posterior comosites. The set containing H40 and H15 diamonds is designed to finish all composite types. To finish composite and ceramic inlays as well as veneers.
To finish conventional and expanded pit and fissure sealants, especially when filled sealants or diluted composites are being used ( H40 and H15 ).
To finish the enamel margins of preparations when using the adhesive technique ( H15 ).

Contouring

Contouring gives the restoration its final shape as determined by function and esthetics. The abrasiveness of the H40 diamonds makes them ideal for contouring, yet at the same time they are non-destructive and kind to the enamel.

Finishing

Finishing refines the form attained during contouring and smoothes the restoration.
During finishing, the abrasiveness of the instruments used is no longer of primary importance; most important is the preservation of restorative material and enamel and the creation of smooth surfaces.

Instructions

use without applying pressure and with a "wiping" motion keeping the diamond in constant motion.
The medium speed range ( 6'000 - 40'000 rpm ) should be used, i.e. the lowest speed setting ( 12'000 - 30'000 rpm ) on the contra-angle marked with a red ring. A high-speed air turbine is contra-indicated.
The diamonds must always be used with a generous water spray.
H40 and H15 diamonds used on composites should never be used on metal ( gold, steel, amalgam ).

Exclusive by Intensiv

These are the only composite finishing diamonds which allow non-destructive finishing of anterior and posterior composites as well as expanded pit and fissure sealants. The finish produced on enamel and composite surfaces is as smooth as that obtained with conventional finishing instruments and is ideally suited for polishing.
However, the diamonds are significantly kinder to the restorative material when compared with conventional finishing techniques.
Fractures of enamel and composite margins are significantly less common. Using the identical filling technique, a significantly greater amount of "perfect margins" is produced when compared to conventional finishing.
