Microfine Amalgam Finishing Diamonds

Indications

• To finish carved and burnished amalgam restorations.

• To recontour existing amalgam restorations, restore function and clinically improve the marginal adaptation.

• To finish cavity margins in enamel and dentin.

  

Contouring

• Contouring should give the restoration its final shape as determined by function and esthetics, ideal marginal adaptation is also established with this step. The Amalgashape Set Finishing Diamonds are well suited for contouring; their grinding efficiency is sufficiently high, yet they are non-destructive and kind to the enamel. The amalgam surface is simultaneously prepared to be polished with a rubber cup and prophylaxis paste.

  

Maintenance

• Amalgam tends to produce a smear layer on the surface of finishing diamonds. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly clean the Amalgashape finishing diamonds by pressing the dry, rotating diamond against the supplied dressing rubber.

Exclusive by Intensiv

• The Amalgashape Set is the only finishing set which allows the non-destructive finishing of amalgam restorations.

• The finish produced on enamel and amalgam surfaces is as smooth as that obtained with conventional finishing instruments and is ideally prepared for polishing.

• The diamonds are significantly kinder to the restorative material. Enamel and amalgam fractures are significantly less common. A significantly greater amount of well adapted margins is produced using the identical filling technique

Instructions

• Use without pressure, "wiping" motions instrument always in motion

• Medium speed (6.000-40.000 r.p.m.) Use of the air turbine is contraindicated

• Contouring: yellow ring (40 µm)

• Finishing: white ring (25 µm)

• Always under generous waterspray.
